WTA approves extension of WWU student bus pass contract

Whatcom Transportation Authority's board unanimously approved a deal with Western Washington University that would extend the student universal bus pass program for five years. The board on Thursday, Feb. 9, voted 9-0 to approve the five-year contract extension. The deal is still contingent on WWU student voters approving a fee to continue purchasing thousands of passes in bulk. Student elections will be held in April.
